Admissions Policies
Application Process. February is set aside for currently enrolled families to reenroll their children for the
upcoming school year. Beginning March 1st, enrollment is open to new families. Parents interested in enrolling their
child(ren) at WCS should request an application form from the school office and complete all applicable information. The
application form includes a parental agreement in which a commitment is made to support the academic goals of the school,
to meet all financial obligations, and to uphold the Christian standards established for each student. For students
entering Grades 7-12, the student must likewise pledge his cooperation and support for the school and its biblical
philosophy and standards. A non-refundable registration fee must be included for each prospective student in order for the
application to be processed. After the initial application screening is complete, an interview will be scheduled for the
student and parent(s) with the school principal. Pastoral interviews are also required for students applying in Grades
7-12. Academic records from the school at which a transferring student was formerly enrolled will be required. Upon
completion of the necessary steps, parents will be informed of the administration's enrollment decision.
Enrollment Reservations and Waiting Lists. Reservations for the upcoming school year are extended in the order
in which the application process is completed (i.e., all required documentation received, interviews completed, any
required testing completed, and fees paid). When classroom capacity is reached for a given grade, parents will be given
the option to have their child's name placed on a waiting list. Waiting list priority will likewise be maintained based on
the order of completion of all steps in the application process. Timely payment of the first tuition installment (due at
the beginning of July) is imperative in order to maintain a student's reservation. Failure to make payment on time may
result in the student's reservation being rescinded in order to allow someone on the waiting list to enroll.
Age requirements. In order to be enrolled in K4, a prospective student must be four years old not later than
November 1st in the fall of the year of enrollment. Similarly, for K5, a student's fifth birthday must occur on or prior
to November 1st in the year of enrollment. Students entering Grade 1 must be six years old by November 1st.
Non-Discrimination. Within the context of its biblical convictions and mission, Westgate Christian School does not
discriminate on the basis of race, gender, national or ethnic origin, or physical handicap in the administration of its
admissions policies and school-administered activities and programs. All qualified applicants will be accepted for
enrollment in this context and will be afforded all the rights and privileges generally made available to students at the
school.
Privilege of Attendance. Attendance at Westgate Christian School is a privilege and not a right. Students forfeit
this privilege if they do not conform to the standards and ideals of the School, and the Administration may insist on the
withdrawal of a student at any time that student, in the opinion of the Administration, does not adhere to the spirit of
the institution.
